Loving God

This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. (I John 5:3.4)

The mountains will bring prosperity to the people, / the hills the fruit of righteousness. (Ps. 72:3)

Note on Ps. 72:3 – the context is the King, the Royal Son. If the king serves the Lord than the land will be blessed. For me, if Jesus Christ is the king of my heart, life, and choices; then I will know prosperity and the fruit of righteousness.

Look at what it says – “prosperity” followed by “fruit of righteousness.” Physical and spiritual blessings from God are all interwoven. It’s not only one or the other. These are blessings of being well-fed both spiritually and physically. This is what I want for me and my family! Because although the pets might not have much of a spiritual life (then again, who knows?) they benefit from being loved and cared for. And love and compassion for others flows from the Lord God.

Lord, please help me today to enthrone You in my heart and my choices. Then I will prosper with physical and spiritual blessings and righteousness. Please help me to hear You. Amen.
