Adventures with Christ
The Christian life is a grand adventure! The Holy One who saved you calls you to a life of abundance AND obedience — and together they spell “adventure.”
“‘I have come to give them abundant life.'” / “‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.'”
Jesus said both things! He calls us to a mighty life of trusting Him and doing His will, of courage and passion, of seeking and finding. These things are obedience. They are the part where we go out the door to meet our holy destiny in spite of hardship, enemies, and uncertainty.
And abundance is our blessing and very great reward: fruits of the spirit, spiritual gifts, provision, friendship with God, eternal life!
Christians like the abundance part! But we don’t always like the adventure part: the uncomfortable, uncertain, risky obedience part.
Ah, but therein lies the adventure. Adventures aren’t easy. We know this from every book ever written, including the Bible. And that’s why too many Christians try to hide under the bed instead of discovering the incredible places God will take them – if they’re screw up their courage and just walk out their door!
Because Christians don’t get abundant life by sitting around eating chocolates on the couch. Discover the passion and purpose of adventuring with Christ.
