Adventuring in 2018 – Worship
When we worship someone or something else besides God, we turn that person or thing into an idol. Idols can be husbands, kids, careers, money, health, even a ministry or a church. If it’s more important to you then God is, congratulations — you just made a golden calf. Casting down the idol doesn’t mean abandoning a beloved person or thing! It means not putting insane expectations of godhood and your personal happiness on someone who isn’t God. Question: In 2018, how will your shift your worship from an idol back to God?

The Christian life is a grand adventure! The Holy One who saved you calls you to a life of abundance AND obedience — and together they spell “adventure.” “‘I have come to give them abundant life.'” / “‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.'” Jesus said both things! He calls us to a mighty life of trusting Him and doing His will, of courage and passion, of seeking and finding. These things are obedience. Bible Study: The Wild and Woolly Book of Jude
“Jude” is a Hebrew name and is an alternate of “Judah.” Sort of like Al or Albert, or Mike or Michael. The Greek form of the name is “Judas.” Two of the 12 of Jesus’ disciples were named Judas – Judas the Zealot, NOT to be confused with Judas Iscariot, who may or may not have been a Zealot. Naming of the Twelve Luke 6:12-16 Mark 3:13-19 Mt. 10:2-4 John doesn’t list them together, and names 9 of them. He does refer to the Twelve.
