My Heart Is Burdened
My heart is so burdened for my non-Christian friends this morning, especially my pagan friends. Yep, I have a lot of those — pagans and/or Wiccans. I love them and am frankly afraid for them. Paganism and Wicca are not any worse than any other false religion but any false religion will get you eternal separation from God! So I’m scared for them as they cheerily wish each other “Happy Winter Solstice.”
But Christ alone is the fulfillment of this religion and any other. Pagans look to the seasons of the world and the return of the light — and Christ is the Light of the World. Jews look to God for salvation — and Christ is the long-hoped-for Messiah. Islam looks for pure worship of Allah — and Christ is the purity Who beckons them. Buddhism looks to detachment and final union — and in Christ are all things.
On this Christmas Eve, pray for your non-Christian friends that they will be saved. Pray for your Christian friends that they will not fall away. Pray for yourself that Christ will bring you safely through this world and into the next, forever with Him. Amen.
Application
- Read 2 Peter 3:9: “God is not willing that any should perish.”
- Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind unsaved friends and family. Pray for each individual. Picture them coming to the Cross and dropping their false hopes and beliefs. Picture them running to Jesus and into His arms!
