What’s “Big Prayer”?
When I talk about Big Prayer, I the kinds of big prayers that seem impossible on your own. And they probably are, because God alone can grant them.
Because when God gives you a big prayer, He’s going to give you the way to achieve it. Mind you, it may not look like what you think it will look like. The will of God WILL be done, but He usually doesn’t detail step by step. So, listen. Watch for the light just ahead. And follow.
This isn’t about goal setting and achievement, even though that is useful when you have a big dream. It’s about the heart of the matter for Christians: knowing God’s will and praying for its fulfillment.
We’ll talk about these things in light of your Kingdom purpose. I’ll share the story of Abraham and Sarah and the son they desperately wanted.
Talk about a long prayer and big doubts! They were both near a hundred when it finally happened. I’d have a few doubts too. The point of the story is that God promised, Abraham believed although he had a few stumbles along the way, Sarah really didn’t believe it much, and it still happened. But Sarah, an older woman who laughed at the idea of having a baby finally held her son in her arms — and named him “Laughter.”
